Human skull on Craigslist seized by police

PHOENIX, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Phoenix police say they've seized a human skull listed for sale on Craigslist, a report said.

Mike Hale says he purchased the skull at a sale in north Phoenix for $1, thinking it was a fake, KNVX-TV, Phoenix, reported Tuesday. He posted it for sale on Craigslist for $300.

Police showed up at Hale's home and seized the item shortly after a KNVX-TV story about the skull, the report said.

The skull was turned over to the medical examiner's office.

Hale, who said he thinks its the skull of a young teenager, received about 20 inquiries about the Craigslist posting before the skull was seized.
