SAN RAFAEL, Calif., July 14 (UPI) -- Porn producer James Mitchell has been convicted of first-degree murder for the death of the mother of his child in California.
A Marin County Superior Court jury delivered a guilty verdict Tuesday after deliberating for less than two days, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The verdict came two years after Mitchell, 29, beat Danielle Keller, 29, to death outside her home in Novato, Calif.
The jury also convicted Mitchell of kidnapping, child endangerment, child abduction, domestic violence and stalking, but acquitted him of murder during kidnapping, a circumstance that would have made him unable to seek parole.
"I'm elated. He is a cold-blooded murderer, and I believe that life in prison is a good punishment for him. He needs to be thinking about Danielle every night for the rest of his life," said Claudia Stevens, Keller's mother, after the verdict was read.
Mitchell faces life in prison. No date was set for sentencing.
