WASHINGTON, June 24 (UPI) -- U.S. President Obama, visiting Pittsburgh Friday, will discuss how government, business and universities can work together to create jobs, the White House said. The daily schedule indicates Obama will:
-- Visit Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where he will tour the university's National Robotics Engineering Center to view cutting-edge technologies.
-- Speak about the importance of manufacturing to the U.S. economy and steps the government, private sector and universities can take together to create new industries and jobs.
The White House said Obama's remarks will point to focusing on cross-cutting technologies to enhance the global competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing and shorten the time for ideas to move from the drawing board to the manufacturing floor.
