CARSON CITY, Nev., May 19 (UPI) -- O.J. Simpson, serving a sentence of nine to 33 years in Nevada for kidnapping and robbery, has lost a bid for a full hearing by the state Supreme Court.

A three-judge panel heard his appeal and turned him down Wednesday. The court, without comment, refused a hearing by the entire seven-member court, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

Simpson was charged with robbing two sports memorabilia dealers in their Las Vegas hotel room. He said he was simply trying to get property back that had been stolen from him.

The former football star was acquitted of murder charges in California of the 1994 killing of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. A jury in a civil trial found him liable for their deaths.
