Reports differ about the number of passengers on board the bus when it rolled over on the highway, with WMUR reporting 20 and WHDH-TV, Boston, reporting 25.

The bus, operated by PRT Tours of New Jersey, was traveling from Quebec to Boston when the accident occurred near the New Hampshire-Vermont state line, WHDH said.

"The vehicle went off the left side of the roadway. Unknown reason -- we're looking at that at this time," New Hampshire State Police Lt. Todd Landry said. "At that point it rolled over on to its side."

State police at the scene said road conditions were snowy and slippery, but did not say officially what caused the crash.

Authorities said state officials were called in to help clean up a fuel spill.
