M.E.: Busch girlfriend died of Oxycodone

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- The girlfriend of brewery heir August Anheuser Busch IV died of an overdose of the prescription painkiller Oxycodone, a medical examiner said Wednesday.

The report from the St. Louis County Medical Examiner described Adrienne Martin's death as "accidental" and the immediate cause as "Oxycodone intoxication," Radio KMOX reported. Martin, 27, died in the Busch mansion in Huntleigh, a St. Louis suburb, in December.

The St. Louis County prosecutor's office is continuing its investigation of Martin's death, the radio station said. But Art Margulis, Busch's lawyer, said the books should be closed.

"If you can reflect back to December, you may recall that we released a statement saying it was an unfortunate tragedy. And it really is," Margulis said. "And we also said in that statement there were no suspicious circumstances. And I think that's now been borne out and it would seem to me that the matter is closed."

Busch, 46, is the great-great-grandson of Adolphus Busch, who founded Anheuser-Busch with his father-in-law, Eberhard Anheuser, after the Civil War. He was chief executive officer in 2008 when he arranged the sale of the company to InBev.

He married a much younger woman in 2006 and filed for divorce two years later.
