Student faces new sexual assault charges

AUBURN, Neb., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- A Nebraska college student suspected of involvement in the disappearance of a young woman was charged Tuesday with sexually assaulting another woman.

Joshua Keadle, 29, appeared in court for a bail hearing, the Omaha World-Herald reported. He faces charges of tampering with evidence and giving false information to investigators about Tyler Thomas, 19, a student at Peru State.

Thomas, from Bellevue, Neb., disappeared Dec. 3.

Nemaha County Attorney Louie Ligouri announced at the hearing that Keadle faces charges of sexual assault, false imprisonment and terroristic threats. He allegedly assaulted a woman identified only as K.J. Oct. 31.

Keadle is from South Carolina and attended two other Nebraska colleges before transferring to Peru State, where he has been suspended.

Judge Curtis Maschman set bail at $750,000.
