GRISWOLD, Conn., Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Police in Connecticut say a father shot and killed his son after the son repeatedly stabbed him and his wife while they were in bed.
The incident occurred early Saturday evening in Griswold; David Gemeasky Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene, the Hartford (Conn.) Courant reported.
Police said the son entered the bedroom and stabbed his father, David Gemeasky Sr., then stabbed Tamara Brennan, his biological mother, as she tried to get away.
Even though he was stabbed multiple times, the father was able to get a shotgun and shoot his son.
Gemeasky Sr., 45, and Brennan, 43, were taken to William Backus Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Police said both victims suffered serious, but not life threatening injuries.
No motive was given and the investigation is continuing, police said.
Gemeasky was taken to the medical examiner's office for autopsy.
