"Time Warner Cable engineers have deployed a restoration fix and the vast majority of customers are able to access the Internet," company spokesman Darryl Ryan said. "We apologize for this intermittent service issue."

The Thursday evening outage lasted more than 2 hours in San Diego County.

"It came back for a little bit … and then it went down again," Carlsbad resident Mike Dailing said Thursday. "Everyone is upset."

Angelino Heights resident and college student Mary Slosson was working on an assignment when her Internet went down.

"It's been next to impossible to get work done. It's highly frustrating," Slosson said.

The outage also sparked angry messages on Twitter, the newspaper said.
