FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- A Texas high school teacher accused of sex with students quit and is pregnant, district documents show.

Jennifer Riojas, 25, was arrested by Fort Worth police Wednesday on charges of having sex with a student starting last year when he was 16, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Riojas, who was freed on bail, could not be reached for comment, but in statements to Fort Worth school district officials, she denied sexual relationships with students and said she was resigning for health reasons.

"I am resigning after careful thought due to increased stress on my health and pregnancy because of current working conditions. ... I do not believe that at this stage in my life, secondary education is my calling," she wrote Oct. 21.

The district's Office of Professional Standards accused Riojas of having sex with three male students, taking at least one to hotels.

One student told district officials he had had a sexual relationship with Riojas and feared he was the father of her child, documents indicate. She denied a student could be her child's father.
