3rd day of Elizabeth Smart testimony

SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- The man accused of kidnapping and raping Elizabeth Smart was ejected from a Salt Lake City courtroom for the second time Wednesday for refusing to quit singing.

Brian David Mitchell was allowed to follow the third day of Smart's testimony via video in an adjacent room, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.

Asked by Assistant U.S. Attorney Felice Viti if Mitchell had ever talked about the consequences of getting caught, Smart testified her alleged captor said he had friends who would come after her and her family if he couldn't.

"He said he knew he would go to prison for what he had done," Smart testified. She said he told her he was going to kidnap other "wives" who would plead in court on his behalf.

"And he said that he would be released and he would be killed and lie dead in the street for three days and then he would be resurrected and he would go on to fight the Anti-Christ," Smart testified.

"He was crude and vulgar, self-serving. He was his No. 1 priority, followed by sex, drugs and alcohol but he used religion in all those aspects to justify everything."
