CHEYENNE, Wyo., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- In a gubernatorial landslide, Wyoming Republican Matt Mead trounced Democrat Leslie Petersen by a margin of 72 percent to 25 percent, returns showed.
Democratic Party officials didn't have a strong candidate to step in for popular term-limited Democratic Gov. Dave Freudenthal, The New York Times said.

Republican Rep. Cynthia Lummis retained her House seat in the state's 1st District with a similar margin, 70 percent to 25 percent, CBS News reported.
