Schoolteacher fired for viewing porn sites

MELBOURNE, Fla., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- A Florida elementary school teacher has been fired for repeatedly viewing pornography on his work computer, the school board said.

Gregory Azcueta, a fifth-grade teacher at Harbor City Elementary School in Melbourne, has not been accused of any crime, the Brevard County School District told Florida Today.

"It will not be turned over (to police or prosecutors) because when they did the investigation, there were no places that any children were involved from the school, and there was no child pornography," said Pam Escobar, a district spokeswoman.

Azcueta, 42, has 15 days to request an appeal hearing.

An investigation found that Azcueta repeatedly accessed porn sites this year, according to a termination letter presented to the school board Tuesday.

District officials said he would take a laptop home, download site information onto a flash drive, then use the device to view the information at work. He tried to erase the evidence when caught, the termination letter said.

Azcueta was reprimanded in 2004 for surfing Internet shopping sites and other unspecified "inappropriate sites," officials said.
