BEAUMONT, Texas, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- The director of a Texas Boys and Girls Club has been sentenced to federal prison for possession of child pornography, prosecutors in Texas say.
Patrick Sanders, 53, drew a 57-month prison term followed by 10 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the charges, the U.S. Department of Justice reported.
Based on a tip, law enforcement officers seized Sanders' computer at the Boys and Girls Club in Lufkin, Texas.
A forensic examination of the computer revealed it contained images of child pornography.
Sanders pleaded guilty to the charges in April and was sentenced Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Thad Heartfield.
The Department of Justice said his case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in 2006.
