3 men shot dead in Los Angeles apartment

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Investigators say three Iranian-American men shot dead in a Los Angeles apartment may have been victims of an attempted robbery.

The bodies were discovered Thursday night after neighbors in West Hollywood reported hearing gunfire, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday. Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies said the killer or killers did not force their way in and the victims did not struggle.

The victims were identified as two brothers, Pirooz Moussazadeh, 27, and Shahriar Moussazadeh, 38, and Bernard Khalili, 27, the county coroner's office said.

Sources told the Times the killers may have been trying to get something from one of the men.

Relatives gathered at the Khalili home in Westwood Friday. The family lost their daughter two years ago when she jumped from a high-rise building after a fight with her boyfriend.

"My cousin was always a very kind person, a very forgiving person," one man told the Times, saying he had been brought up with Khalili.
