Obama welcomes Calderon to White House

WASHINGTON, May 19 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama welcomes Mexican President Felipe Calderon to the Washington for topical discussions and a state dinner Wednesday, officials said.

Calderon and his wife, Margareta Zavala, will be greeted by Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Biden's wife, Jill, in an official arrival ceremony on the South Lawn, the White House said.

Obama will have a closed-door bilateral meeting with Calderon in the Oval Office.

In the evening, the Obamas will officiate at a state dinner for Calderon and Zavala, followed by a reception.
