Afghanistan, Pakistan topics of WH meeting

WASHINGTON, May 6 (UPI) -- The national security team and U.S. President Barack Obama will discuss the situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan Thursday, the White House said.

Expected to attend the meeting are Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, National Security Adviser Gen. James Jones, CIA Director Leon Panetta, and other diplomatic, security and military officials, the daily schedule indicated.

Obama also will meet separately with Clinton, as well as receive the daily briefings, the schedule indicated.
