Mom confronted teacher about sex with son

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 23 (UPI) -- The Florida mother of a teenage boy allegedly involved in an affair with his teacher says she confronted the teacher about it as early as last year.

In an affidavit, the mother says she confronted Lauderhill Middle School teacher Kristen Nicole Sullivan in 2009 when the teacher drove her son home from school, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Friday.

"She then asked Sullivan if she was involved in a relationship with her son," the affidavit said. "Sullivan responded by saying 'No' and claimed she was trying to be a mentor for her son."

Sullivan, 25, was arrested Tuesday on charges of having sex with a minor. The 14-year-old boy said he and Sullivan had sex more than 100 times at school, at his home and in her car, the newspaper said.

Police say Sullivan has admitted to the affair but denied having sex with the student on campus.

The affair continued even after the boy graduated from the middle school and Sullivan left to take another job with the school district, authorities said.

The boy told police the last sexual encounter with Sullivan was Sunday night in her car outside his current home, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
