Details 'confessed' in missing girl search

ORLANDO, Fla., April 18 (UPI) -- The grandmother of Misty Croslin, former stepmother of a missing 5-year-old Florida girl, alleges Croslin confessed details about the child's disappearance.

Croslin was the last person to see Haleigh Cummings before she disappeared from her father's Satsuma, Fla., home in February 2009, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Sunday.

Flora Hollars said her granddaughter Misty Croslin told her someone had "wrapped a rope around (Haleigh) and tied it to a brick."

"And they found two bricks down there yesterday," Hollars said from her home in Tennessee. "They call them cinder blocks, but I call them bricks," Hollars said.

Divers searched a local river last week and recovered items, but officials did not say whether they were related to the disappearance, the Sentinel reported.

Detectives are treating the case as a homicide. No charges have been brought against anyone.

Hollars said she gave investigators information she heard in talks with Misty Croslin.

"Every time I talk to her (Croslin), I get a little bit more and a little bit more," Hollars said. "I even told them (investigators) where to go search at. ... I know a yellow rope was supposed to be there."
