DETROIT, March 10 (UPI) -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was free on $10,000 bond after being arraigned on multiple probation violations.

Kilpatrick was arraigned Tuesday in Wayne County Circuit Court on allegations he hid assets related to a $1 million restitution fine owed the city.

Citing bias, Kilpatrick filed a motion to replace Circuit Court Judge David Groner from the case, the Detroit News reported Wednesday. Judge Timothy Kenny, the presiding judge of the court's criminal division, ordered Kilpatrick to remain in Michigan until he rules on Kilpatrick's motion Thursday.

Court documents allege Kilpatrick hid assets by fraudulently conveying money to his wife and failing to disclose the sources of $40,223 paid on his behalf toward the restitution.

Kilpatrick resigned as mayor in September 2008 after pleading guilty to two counts of obstruction of justice and agreeing to pay restitution. He served 79 days in prison and then moved to Texas to work as a $120,000-a-year salesman for a subsidiary of Compuware computers, the News said.
