Cops search for body of $31M Lotto winner

PLANT CITY, Fla., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- The body of a $31 million Florida lottery winner feared murdered for his jackpot may be buried behind a house between Brandon and Lakeland, Fla., police say.

Polk County sheriff's deputies broke through a concrete slab in Plant City, Fla., and archeologists searched beneath it for the body of Abraham Shakespeare, 43, a truck driver's assistant who lived with his mother before winning the jackpot.

He bought a lottery ticket at a convenience store in 2006 and has been missing since last April.

"We've got information that leads us to believe that Abraham Shakespeare may be here," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times.

The property being searched belongs to Shar Krasniqi, believed to be the boyfriend of Dorice "DeeDee" Moore, 37, of Lakeland, listed by police as a person of interest in the disappearance, the Times said.

Detectives Monday also arrested Lakeland Police Officer Troy McKay Young, 42, in connection with the case. Investigators said in an affidavit they believed Moore paid Young for information from law enforcement databases.

Deputies say they believe Moore befriended Shakespeare after he bought a $1.1 million home in early 2007.

She told authorities she became a financial adviser to Shakespeare, who never graduated from high school, and set up Abraham Shakespeare LLC to manage his financial affairs, the Times said.

She also divorced her husband of 17 years, the newspaper said.

"We know a whole lot more than we're sharing with y'all," Judd told the Times. "But we will. It will be very interesting."
