Group of 20 officials to meet in S. Korea

SEOUL, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- A South Korean presidential organization said Friday financial officials from Group of 20 members will meet twice ahead of a South Korean summit.

The committee responsible for organizing November's economic summit in Seoul confirmed in a release that finance ministers and central bank heads from G20 countries will meet in South Korea in June and October, the Yonhap News Agency reported.

"Through advices from experts and consultations among relevant ministries, (we) selected the venues in consideration of various factors, including the size and characteristics of the meetings, access to airport, conference and lodging facilities," the committee said.

Yonhap said the June session is to take place in Busan and the October session will occur in Gyeongju.

The G20 members are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.
