Missing girl's relative in road-rage claim

LAKE MARY, Fla., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- The stepmother of Haleigh Cummings, a Florida girl who went missing in February, was temporarily detained as part of a road-rage complaint, police say.

Police in Lake Mary, Fla., said Cummings' stepmother, Misty Croslin Cummings, 17, was a passenger inside a car driven by Donna Brock, 43, on Interstate 4 Wednesday when the two women were stopped for allegedly using a gun to threaten another driver, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported.

Courtney Ballinger, 25, accused Brock of waving a gun at her and both women of making an obscene gesture while traveling on the interstate.

"These people are like seriously scaring me big time, and I don't get scared easily," Ballinger was quoted as telling a 911 dispatcher Wednesday.

While both Cummings and Brock were stopped by police and handcuffed during a search of their car, both women were released after officers failed to locate a gun inside the vehicle.

Haleigh Cummings, 5, went missing from her Florida home in February. Misty Croslin Cummings was the last person to have seen the child before her disappearance, the Sentinel said.
