Bomb kills eight in Ramadi

BAGHDAD, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- A suicide bombing in Ramadi Monday killed at least eight people, including children, and wounded 18 at a road checkpoint, Iraqi authorities said.

The death toll from the bombing on the Baghdad-Amman highway was expected to rise, the Kuwait news agency KUNA reported.

In Baghdad, a bomb attached to the fender of a government car exploded Monday, seriously injuring the driver, KUNA reported. The bomb detonated as the car passed through al-Watheq Square in downtown Baghdad.
