INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- A parade car once used by German Nazi leader Adolf Hitler will be sold by an auction house in Indiana, a historian says.
Dean "Dino" Arnold said he helped restore the six-wheeled Mercedes-Benz being auctioned off Sunday by Kruse International, The Indianapolis Star reported Saturday.
"As historians, we're bringing a part of history back to life," Arnold said.
Hitler's parade car is being sold with two similar cars as a set. According to two appraisals, the three cars together are worth nearly $10 million.
In addition to the parade car, the set includes a radio vehicle and an ammunition vehicle. All three were made in 1939. The owner of the vehicles wished to remain anonymous.
Arnold told the Star his team replaced the vehicles' engines and brakes, along with other equipment, until the historical vehicles were once again operational.
"Basically, they can be museum pieces," he said. "But if you want to put them on the road, they're ready to go."
