Son charged with killing dad, 7 others

BRUNSWICK, Ga., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- The son of one of the eight people killed at Georgia trailer park was charged Friday with eight counts of murder.

Gary Heinze Jr., 22, had made the 911 calls about finding the bodies in a mobile home at New Hope Plantation park near Brunswick, the Florida Times-Union reported.

"I was out last night. I got home just now, and everybody's dead," he told a dispatcher on Aug. 29. "My whole family's dead. It looks like they've been beaten to death."

Matt Doering, the Glynn County police chief, said investigators received two pieces of information Friday that led to the arrest. He would not give details.

Heinze had been charged earlier with making false statements to police about the circumstances of his 911 call, CNN reported.

The victims were Russell D. Toler Sr., 44; his four children, Chrissy, 22, Michelle, 15, Michael, 19, and Russell Jr., 20; Chrissy Toler's boyfriend, Joseph West, 30; Guy Heinze Sr., 45, and Brenda Gail Falagan, 49.

All except West are to be buried Saturday after a joint funeral service.

Diane Isenhower, Russell Toler's ex-wife, said her 3-year-old grandson, who was injured, is on life support in a Savannah hospital.
