Four charged with 210 deaths of rivals

MEXICO CITY, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Four alleged hit men have been charged with killing 210 rivals of the Juarez drug cartel in Mexico, authorities said.

In alleged confessions, the men told police most of their victims sold drugs, stole cars, extorted money and kidnapped and killed people, the El Paso (Texas) Times reported Monday.

Omar Rivera, 28, Edgar Martinez, 30, and Cristian Franco, 22, were arraigned Saturday at a prison near Mexico City on federal weapons and organized crime charges, authorities said.

Rivera was charged with 92 homicides, Martinez with 87 and Franco with 16, the newspaper said. A fourth suspect, Hector Wong, 21, who already was in custody, was charged with 15 homicides.
