Two killed at graduation party

MESA, Ariz., May 24 (UPI) -- A gunman surrendered Sunday after allegedly killing two people at a graduation party in Mesa, Ariz., police said.

Five others were injured, including a police officer who was shot in the arm and a 10-year-old boy whose head was grazed by a bullet, Mesa police Sgt. Ed Wessing said.

During the party, the suspect allegedly got a gun from his car and shot two people dead on the front lawn of a home before barricading himself inside, Wessing said.

The motivation for the shootings was not immediately known, police said after the suspect surrendered. The suspect had yet to be publicly identified, CNN reported.
