Acid attack injures 30 people

HONG KONG, May 17 (UPI) -- Two bottles of acid thrown in a busy shopping district injured 30 pedestrians in Hong Kong, police said.

The acid thrown Saturday caused various degrees of burns, but none of the injuries were serious, CNN reported Sunday.

The attack in the Mong Kok district was similar to one that injured 46 people in December, police said, adding they were investigating whether the two were connected.

The first attack occurred about the same time in the same area with bottles that contained acid, CNN reported.
