MANILA, Philippines, May 3 (UPI) -- Tropical storm Dante was to blame for a dozen deaths in the Philippines' Bicol region, officials said Sunday.
Eight of the 12 victims died in a landslide in the village of Hubo, the Manila Times reported.

Efforts were under way to find another 15 people reported missing.
The typhoon forced thousands of people out of their homes and brought travel in the region to a standstill. Ten evacuation centers were opened to help those affected by the storm.
