Cruise line donates reusable items

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Jan. 23 (UPI) -- The Holland America Line began a charitable program Friday to donate reusable goods from cruise ships to needy people in Broward County, Fla.

Holland America and Broward County's Port Everglades said hundreds of individual items -- including linens, dishes, cookware and silverware -- from four of the company's cruise ships sailing from the Florida port will be donated weekly to Cooperative Feeding Broward for distribution to the needy, the Miami Herald reported Friday.
