McCain slams Obama on last day barnstorm

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Republican U.S. presidential candidate John McCain ripped Democratic foe Barack Obama Monday, saying he would raise both taxes and spending.

"You know, when you got -- when you got a Democrat Congress and a Democrat president, as they think they may have, you get some really great spending and tax ideas," McCain said during a rally at Moon Township, Pa.

McCain said he and Obama disagree with President George Bush's economic policy, but the similarities stopped there.

"The difference is that he thinks that taxes have been too low. And I think that spending has been too high," McCain said.

McCain also pointed to differences he and the Illinois senator had in energy, defense, foreign policy and national security.

"America faces a big choice, and there's just one day left. The pundits have written us off just like they've done four or five times in this past. And my opponent is measuring the drapes in the White House," McCain said. "You know, they may not know it, but the Mac is back."
