Body found in car trunk after DWI stop

LEBANON, Pa., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Pennsylvania state troopers who pulled over a suspected drunken driver found a woman's body in the car trunk after the man ran away.

The woman was identified as Marisol Rivera, 41, of Lebanon, Pa., sister of Julio Lastra's former girlfriend, The Harrisburg Patriot-News reported.

The body was discovered about an hour's drive from Lebanon in Lower Paxton Township near Harrisburg at around 1:15 a.m. Thursday. Lastra took off as troopers prepared to administer a field sobriety test.

Lastra, 32, was still missing Friday, more than 24 hours after the traffic stop. He allegedly stole a Cadillac SRX from a house about 4 miles away, which turned up later Thursday in Baltimore.

Around the same time that the troopers pulled Lastra over, police in Bethel near Lebanon went to Rivera's home and discovered signs of violence, the Lebanon Daily News said. A friend had called to report she was concerned.

A few days ago, Mari Reyes, Rivera's sister, applied for a protection from abuse order. Reyes described him as a "paranoid schizophrenic" and said she had been warned that her life was in danger.
