Schwarzenegger hurts knee in workout

LAKE TAHOE, Calif., Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger Saturday canceled an appearance in Lake Tahoe, Calif., due to a knee injury he sustained last month, the Los Angeles Times said.

Schwarzenegger was scheduled to share hosting duties with Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., at a conference on environmental matters, but saw a doctor instead, the governor's spokesman, Aaron McLear, said.

Schwarzenegger, 61, tore a cartilage in his knee during a workout several weeks ago, McLear said, noting that the injury has not impaired the governor's ability to walk but said the knee "was bothering him at the point where he needed to get it checked out."

"I think he just experiences discomfort," McLear said.
