U.S.: 8 terror suspects detained in Iraq

BAGHDAD, April 18 (UPI) -- Coalition forces detained eight terror suspects, two of them alleged al-Qaida associates, in the northern Iraq city of Mosul, military officials said Friday.

One of the suspected al-Qaida facilitators identified himself as being a member of the terror group, a U.S. military official said.

The man led troops to a house where they apprehended the second alleged al-Qaida member.

"We're working to systematically break down al-Qaida in Iraq's structure, capture ... key leaders and bring them to justice," Cmdr. Scott Rye said.
