Doctors at St. Mary's Medical Center performed an emergency Caesarean section Sunday morning successfully delivered the child. Thomas' grandmother, Diana Thomas, said her newborn great-grandson weighed 4 pounds, 9 ounces at the time of his birth. Family members said they are focusing their hopes on Ronkeysha Thomas' recovery.

"It's in God's hands, all I can say," Melvin Thomas, Ronkeysha Thomas' grandfather, told the Post. "It's just in God's hands."

Local sheriff's officials are searching for suspects in the shooting.
