Sibling Holloway suspects released

ORANJESTAD, Aruba, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Two brothers taken into custody a second time as suspects in the disappearance of U.S. tourist Natalee Holloway in Aruba were released again Saturday.

Prosecutors were unsuccessful Friday in convincing a judge to keep Deepak and Satish Kalpoe of Suriname jailed for another eight days, a development prosecutor Hans Mos called "a bit of a setback." Mos -- who met with Holloway's parents and investigators Saturday -- has until Monday to appeal, CNN reported.

The judge previously had ordered a third suspect, Joran van der Sloot, held until a hearing next Friday, CNN said.

"Apparently, the judge sees a difference between the third suspect and these two suspects," Mos said, since the jurist concluded the evidence against the Kalpoes was not strong enough to warrant their continued detention.

Holloway, 18, of the Birmingham, Ala., area, was last seen May 30, 2005, leaving a nightclub in Oranjestad. The three suspects had been picked up as a result of the initial investigation but released, only to be arrested again late last month.
