'Spider Man' fan held in break-in

NEW YORK, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- A "Spider-Man" fan charged with burglary says he knows nothing about a break-in at the New York City home of the actress who plays Spider Man's girlfriend.

James Jimenez, 33, a New York City auto mechanic with a long history of crime, is charged with allegedly helping a friend break into the SoHo Grand penthouse of actress Kirsten Dunst, the New York Post reported Monday.

Jimenez on Aug. 9 allegedly helped Jarrod Beinerman break in and steal a $13,000 Marc Jacobs purse, $2,500 in cash, and cameras and an iPod, the Post reported.

Jimenez has denied involvement with the break-in at Dunst's, who was not home at the time.

"I know James has the deepest respect for Spider-Man and would never want anything to happen to Spider-Man's girlfriend," said John Bostany, Jimenez' lawyer.
