Mom kept in jail after disrupting flight

DENVER, July 26 (UPI) -- A California woman accused of hitting her children and throwing a drink at a flight attendant has agreed to stay in jail until she goes to trial.

Tamera Jo Freeman, 38, was arrested last week after her Frontier Airlines flight from San Francisco landed in Denver, The Denver Post said Thursday.

Freeman admitted she hit her 2-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter during the flight, but denied throwing a drink toward the flight attendant who tried to stop her.

She is charged with interfering with a flight crew and two counts of assaulting her children, the newspaper said. Freeman's lawyer declined to say why her client did not seek a release on bond.

The newspaper said court records in Hawaii show a woman with Freeman's name was convicted in 2005 for abusing a family member and sentenced to 30 days in jail.
