NEW YORK, July 13 (UPI) -- Former U.S. Senator Al D'Amato, R-N.Y. is pushing 70 but he is as giddy any other expectant father over the pending birth of his new baby.
D'Amato, who hits 70 next month, is expecting a child next spring with his 41-year-old wife, Katuria, Newsday reported.

The bundle of joy will be the first for the couple, who live in Lido Beach, N.Y.
Sources told Newsday Friday that D'Amato was "ecstatic" about the blessed event that will add to his family of four adult children and 14 grandchildren.
Equally thrilled are the grandparents -- the onetime New York lawmaker's own parents, who are in the 90s, live in nearby Island Park, N.Y., the newspaper said.
