Guilty verdict in lesbian attack case

NEW YORK, April 19 (UPI) -- Four lesbians were convicted of gang assault for an attack on a man outside a movie theater in New York's Greenwich Village.

One of the women was also found guilty Wednesday of first-degree assault for stabbing Dwayne Buckle, The New York Daily News reported. Patreese Johnson, 19, was acquitted of attempted murder.

The women said Buckle spat at them and used vulgar language when they refused his advances. Buckle said he was attacked because he tried to flirt with them.

Three other women pleaded guilty to lesser charges and are serving jail sentences. The seven women, all from Newark, N.J., had come into the city for a night out.
