Israel plans stepped up campaign in Gaza

JERUSALEM, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- The Israeli security cabinet ordered the army Wednesday to focus on reducing Qassam rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip.

The methods involved include attacks on Hamas institutions and an increased number of "pinpoint preventions" or targeted assassinations, Ha'aretz reported.

The Israeli Defense Force was also told to prepare for ground operations. Military leaders were told to draw up plans for a massive offensive.

Two Qassams landed in Israel without causing any injuries Wednesday morning, Arutz Sheva reported. Yaakov Yaakobov, a farm worker in Sderot who was injured by a rocket attack Tuesday, died of his wounds later in the day and was to be buried Wednesday.

He was the 13th Israeli and eighth resident of Sderot to be killed by Qassam attacks this year.
