Argentina issues warrant for Rafsanjani

BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Argentina has issued an arrest warrant for a former Iranian leader for his alleged involvement in the 1994 Jewish community center bombing.

Along with former Iranian President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, eight other former Iranian officials were also named on arrest warrants issued by an Argentine judge, La Nacion reported Friday.

Argentine officials have accused Iran's former leaders of directing Lebanon's Hezbollah militia to carry out the bombing that killed 85.

Officials in Tehran have adamantly denied that any former leaders were involved in the blast.
