CORFU, Greece, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- The British father of two children who died of gas poisoning while vacationing on a Greek island has not been told of their fate, Greek hospital officials say.
Neil Shepherd, 38, and girlfriend Ruth Beatson, 27, survived the carbon monoxide, but were still too weak Saturday to be told about the deaths of Christianne, 7, and Robert, 6, the officials told the Telegraph.
Cleaners found the children Thursday cradled in the arms of the unconscious adults at the Louis Corcyra Beach Hotel on the island of Corfu.
The children lived with their mother, Sharon Wood, 35, who had redecorated their bedroom as a surprise for them when they returned, the Telegraph said.
Officials Saturday were trying to determine the source of the carbon monoxide.
