ATLANTA, June 3 (UPI) -- A new poll shows Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor has a lead over Secretary of State Cathy Cox in the race for the Democratic nomination for Georgia governor.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that 39 percent of voters are still undecided in the primary election.
The Insider Advantage/Majority Opinion Poll, conducted May 30-31 for Southern Political Report, found that 34 percent of those surveyed favored Taylor and 27 percent favored Cox. The poll was conducted among 450 possible Democratic primary voters.
The July 18 primary will determine which Democrat will face incumbent Republican Gov. Sonny Perdue in the November general election.
Matt Towery, CEO of Insider Advantage, said the Democratic race was "still up for grabs" largely because of the undecided vote.
