Pentagon terror attack video released

WASHINGTON, May 16 (UPI) -- The U.S. Department of Defense has released tapes that show terrorist-controlled American Airlines Flight 77 crashing into the Pentagon.

While still photographs showed the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, Washington attack, the video from Pentagon, Virginia Transportation Department, bank and gas station cameras contains the first moving pictures released by the government.

Advocacy group Judicial Watch said it would post the video immediately on its Web site.

"We fought hard to obtain this video because we felt that it was very important to complete the public record with respect to the terrorist attacks of September 11," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton told CNN.

"Finally, we hope that this video will put to rest the conspiracy theories involving American Airlines Flight 77," he said. Our prayers remain with all those who suffered as a result of those murderous attacks."

The government had refused Judicial Watch's Freedom of Information request until after the trial of convicted al-Qaida conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui.
