Sen. Kennedy's plane hit by lightning

FAA spokeswoman Arlene Murray said the lightning disabled the electrical and communication systems of the Citation 550 twin-engine craft.

No one was hurt but the name of the pilot or any other possible passengers on the flight haven't been confirmed.

The Boston Globe reports the Massachusetts Democratic senator was on his way Saturday to his Hyannis, Mass., home after giving a commencement speech at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams.

The pilot landed the plane at Tweed New Haven Regional Airport in Connecticut.
