Peru: Supplies sent to volcano zone

Food and tents were sent to those who were prompted to leave their homes amid concerns the volcano would soon erupt.

Smoke and ash began spewing from the Ubinas volcano three weeks ago. Scientists said the volcano is likely to erupt in full in the near future.

The Peruvian army was brought in to evacuate nearby villages, though some residents have refused to leave.

Civil authorities, however, recommended everyone in the vicinity of the volcano should leave immediately.
