Gates says IRS screws up his taxes

LISBON, Portugal, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- The Internal Revenue Service apparently is having a difficult time keeping tabs on Bill Gates, said the Microsoft founder during a conference in Portugal.

During an address in which Gates announced Microsoft will collaborate with the Portuguese government on a number of projects, he said the IRS needed a special computer just to track his tax returns, Diario de Noticias reported Wednesday in its online edition.

"So I am constantly getting these notices telling me I haven't paid something when really it is just on the wrong computer," said Gates. "Then they will send me another notice telling me how bad they feel they that they sent me a notice that was a mistake."

The Microsoft magnate is the world's richest man and believed to be worth about $47 billion.
