Chinese businesses attacked in Mongolia

ULAN BATOR, Mongolia, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Three Chinese-owned businesses were attacked in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, leaving one man wounded.

Late Saturday night, a group of nearly 40 gangsters reportedly tried to break into the "Beijing Supermarket" in downtown Ulan Bator, the Mongolian capital. They destroyed a door and windows before getting away, Xinhua news agency said.

Meanwhile, a Chinese restaurant was attacked by unidentified assailants.

Several hours later, "Fu Xing" a Chinese-owned hotel, was raided and its reception room was seriously damaged. One man staying in the hotel was injured and three mobile phones were reported missing.

The Chinese embassy in Mongolia told Xinhua that it has taken measures to protect Chinese citizens and businesses in Mongolia.
